The standard edition of the PS5 -- the one with the optical disc drive -- will launch in the country on December 11, 2020, just in time for the holidays.

The PS5 is also backwards compatible, so you can play your PS4 games with a fresh, new feel by having faster loading times and smoother frames. Some PS4 titles, such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077, will get free digital upgrades for PS5.
