In its latest report, the Department of Foreign Affairs said all these new cases of fatality and recovery involving Filipinos were recorded in the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East, and Africa.

This brings the total number of overseas Filipinos afflicted with COVID-19 to 11,545; of which, 3,244 are currently undergoing treatment; 7468 have recovered; and 833 have died.

To date, the total number of countries and territories with confirmed cases among Filipinos remains at 82.

The DFA, together with its Foreign Service Posts, remains fully committed to monitoring and assisting our nationals abroad amidst this ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the continuing government repatriation program amid the pandemic, the Philippine Embassies in Laos and Myanmar have sent home 46 Filipinos and three foreign nationals to Manila on November 16, 2020, via Myanmar National Airlines (MNA).

The returning Filipinos, many of them displaced by the pandemic, expressed their appreciation of the assistance extended by the two embassies that allowed them to return home and reunite with their families before the holiday season.

The DFA noted that Laos remains a low-risk country for COVID-19, recording only 24 cases from January to October 2020. The Lao government continues to implement policies and measures to prevent a second wave of the pandemic in Laos, such as closing international borders and entertainment venues, as well as limiting inbound travel to those with urgent work in the country.
