BACOLOD CITY – The Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) in Western Visayas has extended the suspension of the return of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) in Cadiz City, and La Castellana town in Negros Occidental.

Based on Resolution No. 64, the RIATF granted the moratorium in Cadiz City from November 15 to 30, and La Castellana town from November 16 to 21.

Earlier, the RIATF also approved a five-day moratorium in Cadiz City. However, the local government unit (LGU) sent another letter to the RIATF, requesting for another suspension to give sufficient time for the preparation of its quarantine facilities before accommodating a new batch of incoming LSIs.

The municipal government of La Castellana also informed the RIATF of its local resolution recommending a moratorium on the return of LSIs.

The resolution was approved by WVRIATF COVID-19 chairperson Juan Jovian Ingeniero, officer-in-charge regional director of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-VI, and attested by Dr. Marlyn Convocar, regional director of Department of Health (DOH)-VI.
