COVID-19 Update: 43 new cases, 3 deaths registered in Caraga region

BUTUAN CITY –  The Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) reported 43 new cases and three deaths due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region.

The number of active cases in Caraga region is now at 403, while the total number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases recorded is 3,226.

The DOH said the new cases included 13 from Agusan del Sur, 10 from Butuan City, seven from Surigao del Norte, six from Surigao del Sur, two each from the cities of Bayugan and Tandag, and one each from Cabadbaran City, Surigao City and Agusan del Norte.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Caraga region also continued to rise with three new deaths recorded. The region has already recorded 157 fatalities.

DOH-CHD also reported that Caraga region has recorded 2,226 recoveries.

According to the medical status of the new cases, the DOH-CHD said that one was critical, two were severe, 18 have mild symptoms, and 22 were asymptomatic.

Among the latest cases, 21 were all local transmission cases, 17 with no history of travel to an area with known local transmission or exposure to COVID-19, and five with travel history from an area with local transmission.

Among those infected, 25 were male, 18 were female, with the youngest at 8-years old and the oldest, at 90-years-old.
