The Department of Social Welfare and Development has distributed 16,340 family food packs and other non-food items to victims of typhoon “Ulysses.”
DSWD Undersecretary Felicisimo Budiongan said Thursday they have reached out to local government units to implement their Technical Assistance and Resource Augmentation program.
“We were still in search and rescue mode. Now we’re in relief mode,” he said.
Budiongan said 1,000 family food packs and 250 sleeping kits have been distributed in Barangay Silangan, Quezon City, 1,400 family food packs in Marikina City, and 2,000 family food packs in San Mateo, Rizal.
Budiongan said 8,300 family food packs and 150 modular tents are now on their way to their Regional Office 5 from their Central Office for distribution in Legazpi City.
Another 1,700 family food packs will be handed out in Camarines Norte while their Regional Field Office 2 is distributing 870 family food packs to affected fisherfolk in Sta. Teresita, Cagayan.
Budiongan said 70 families internally displaced due to Ulysses are now being supported by the DSWD with family food packs.
The DSWD Field Office 1 will send 1,000 family food packs to their satellite warehouse in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
