DFA consular services resume after ‘Ulysses’ departure


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has announced the reopening of the Office of Consular Affairs in Aseana, Parañaque City (OCA-Aseana) and its consular offices in six other regions on Monday, November 16, 2020, following its closure due to Typhoon Ulysses’ effects.

In an advisory, the DFA said the following regions remained close on Friday in line with the pronouncements of the Office of the President: Region II; Region III; Region IV (CALABARZON, MIMAROPA); Region V; Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR), and National Capital Region.

“These offices will resume their regular operations on Monday, 16 November 2020, unless otherwise advised,” the DFA said.

The department advised all affected applicants with confirmed appointments who are unable to avail of consular services due to the suspension of operations to secure another appointment by emailing the office where they secured their appointments with the following information: Name; Date of birth; Original appointment date and time, and Preferred date and time of new appointment.

It added that preferred new appointments may be requested on any working day (Monday to Friday) from November 16 to December 16, 2020 during the regular operating hours of the affected offices.
