Manila suspends mass swab testing, drive-thru serology testing operations on Nov. 12

The Manila city government will suspend its mass swab testing operations for the city's working class and the drive-thru serology testing operations at Quirino Grandstand on Thursday, November 12 due to Typhoon "Ulysses."

This is to ensure the safety of the public from the typhoon, the Manila Public Information Office said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised Signal No. 3 in Metro Manila due to the typhoon.

In its forecast around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the weather bureau said Typhoon Ulysses now has maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph), and gustiness of up to 195 kph.

The typhoon is seen to make landfall between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The Manila Health Department advised the public to stand by for further announcements on the resumption of the city's coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) testing operations.
