After getting mired in controversy expressing her opinion and beliefs online, Liza Soberano is now avoiding social media, going on to ask for her fans’ understanding.
“Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been MIA (missing in action) for a while,” she wrote on Twitter.
The 22-year-old actress explained that she had quite a trying time in the past few months and that she’s just spending time with her family.
“But I do constantly have all of you at the back of my mind and I just want to say thank you so much for all the love and support everyone has been showing me these past months. It’s honestly been a very trying time for me and I wanted to express how I was feeling with all of you but it was just too soon for me,” she related.
Liza pointed out that she just “needed” to take a break and think about life, her goals, and her mission in life.
Recall that some few months ago, Liza slammed the decision to pardon US Marine Lance Cpl. Joseph Scott Pemberton, vocally expressing her thoughts on social media.
She was insulted for it, however, the young star was unmoved by “boba” tag.
Days later, she asked netizens to be “more sensitive” to public figures.
Note that Liza pushed through with her plan to file a criminal case against a telco employee over “rape” remark.
Then when she got emotional speaking at Gabriela Youth event last month, she was tagged a member of an outlawed group.
