K-pop boy band EXO member Kai will be debuting as a solo artist with the release of his first album this month.
Kai will drop his first solo mini-album “Kai” on Nov. 30, which will contain six songs. This is his solo album in eight years after debuting in EXO in 2012.
According to the announcement, Kai has gained worldwide popularity with his excellent performance skills and stylish visuals through various EXO activities. Particularly, he has proven his dominance on stage with the songs “Confession” and “Spoiler” that he performed at EXO concerts.
The pre-sale of “Kai” will start today, Nov. 11, through different online and offline record stores, the announcement added.
Through the album, 26-year-old Kai will follow the footsteps of fellow EXO members who have made their solo debuts including Baekhyun, Suho and Chen. Kai is also a member of the boy band SuperM.
In February, SM Entertainment announced that with EXO members enlisting in the military, the group will focus on solo and unit activities.
“Besides, since there are members who are about to enlist, from last year, EXO was scheduled to focus on solo and unit activities this year. Expectedly, the members’ activities will be announced in turn. In the future, EXO members will continue to conduct various activities as EXO, soloists, units, etc. and work hard to repay fans’ affection,” it said, according to Osen.
Last July, sub-unit EXO-SC, composed of Sehun and Chanyeol, released their studio album “1 Billion Views.” In May, Baekhyun released the album “Delight.”
