The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday reported nine new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases, two new recoveries, and no new fatality among Filipinos abroad.
In its latest report, the foreign affairs office said the new cases and new recoveries were recorded in Asia and the Pacific and Europe.
The total number of countries with confirmed cases among Filipinos remains at 81.
The total number of overseas Filipinos infected with COVID-19 since the outbreak began in February this year is 11,510.
Of that total, 3,224 are undergoing treatment, 7,458 have recovered and 828 succumbed to the disease.
The Middle East and Africa remain as the combined regions with the most number of overseas Filipinos infected with the coronavirus disease at 7,518; the Asia and the Pacific, 1,854; Europe, 1309, and the Americas, 829.
With the continuing onslaught of the pandemic, the department assured that it is fully committed to monitoring and assisting Filipinos abroad, together with all of its foreign service posts worldwide.
