Secretary Mark A. Villar identified these projects of DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineering Office (DEO) as the P30.45-million road widening along Governor Camins Road and P34.32-million road reconstruction of the Naval Station Romulo Espaldon (NSRE) Road Network.

In a statement on Sunday, Nov. 8, the DPWH said the widening along Governor Camis Road is currently in its second phase involving right-of-way (ROW) acquisition and civil works at the 642-meters portion of the road with an accomplishment of 70 percent.

The department said the road widening project will promote faster mobility, connectivity, and reduced traffic congestion in the city when completed in April 2021. It will form part to the proposed flyover project of DPWH Regional Office 9.

As for the NSRE Road Network reconstruction in Barangay Bagong Calarian, Zamboanga City, the DPWH said it has already reached 60.62 percent accomplishment as of October 2020, with target completion set on February 2021.

“The upgrading of the 985-meter road section with 10-meter width will facilitate efficient travel for military personnel within the premises of the Naval Forces Station,” said DPWH.

Both projects are included in the DPWH Regular Infrastructure Program.
