Indonesian wrestler Eko Roni Saputra displayed grappling mastery in the Circle Friday night, submitting Filipino karateka Ramon Gonzales in the first round of their flyweight mixed martial arts bout in ONE: Inside the Matrix II at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Saputra maintained a 100-percent finishing rate in his 4-1 professional MMA career following a swift rear-naked choke on Gonzales at the 4:07 mark of the opening round.

Though the first minute lacked the action, it was in the 3:40 mark when things got interesting as the Indonesian wrestling champion charged and slammed Gonzales to the canvas at 3:40.

Gonzales managed to scramble out but ended up with an awkward position against Saputra who was trying to squeeze in a submission.

After several attempts, Saputra managed to sneak in an Americana lock on the Filipino karateka followed up by several hammer fists and elbows.

Still down on the canvas, Saputra unloaded more right-hand punches straight to Gonzalez's face before the multi-titled Indonesian wrestler found the perfect chance to catch the Filipino fighter off guard and secure a submission victory with 53 seconds left.

With the win, Saputra rides on a four-match streak with all victories coming from first-round finishes -- three from submissions and a technical knockout.

Gonzales, meanwhile, slid down to a 4-4 record.
