Police, BIR team arrest 2 for online fake TIN scam


Operatives of the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Philippine National Police have arrested two women allegedly distributing online fake taxpayers identification number (TIN) in Pila, Laguna.

Laguna-Quezon-Marinduque Revenue Regional Director Ric Espiritu identified the suspects as Divina Banog of Gumaca, Quezon and Clarivel Lovingco of Tagkawayan, Quezon.

A third suspect named as Diane Alvarez managed to escape during an entrapment operation.

Falsification of public document charges were filed against them before the Laguna Prosecutor's Office.

The document is distributed free of charge by revenue district offices nationwide.

It was learned that the suspects were selling the spurious TIN online charging buyers from P300 to P500 including the delivery fee.
