Pasig LGU to send aid to provinces hit by ‘Rolly’

The Pasig City government will be sending aid to provinces devastated by super typhoon “Rolly” as affected areas struggle to recover from the calamity amid the pandemic.

Mayor Vico Sotto on Thursday led an emergency meeting for the approval of Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PCDRRMC) Resolution No. 7, Series of 2020, extending financial assistance and relief goods to provinces that bore the grunt of the typhoon.

The resolution authorized the grant of financial assistance of P2 million to the Provincial Government of Catanduanes, P1 million for the Provincial Government of Albay, and P1 million for the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur.

Aside from the financial aid, the city government will also provide 10,000 units of relief goods exclusively for the victims of the typhoon in Catanduanes.

"The financial assistance shall provide a temporary respite to those affected cities and municipalities in time of great distress while in the process of recovery and rehabilitation," the resolution read.

The City Council has also adopted the PCDRRMC resolution through Resolution No. 113, Series of 2020.
