Davao region has 132 new COVID-19 cases


DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development reported 132 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the region on Wednesday, bringing the total number of active cases to 1,625.

Based on the COVID-19 Regional Case Bulletin, the new cases include 87 from Davao City; 22 from Davao del Norte; 13 from Davao Oriental; five from Davao del Sur; four from Davao de Oro; and one from Davao Occidental.

Record shows that six of the active cases in the region are critical, 84 have severe symptoms; 555 have mild symptoms; and 980 are asymptomatic.

Majority of the active cases or 1,122 are from Davao City.

The DOH also reported four deaths on Wednesday. Among these, three are from Davao City and one from Davao Oriental.

On Tuesday, two deaths were recorded, including a 22-month-old boy from Barangay Pandaitan in Paquibato district in Davao City and a 54-year-old woman from Barangay Matina Crossing in Talomo Central District. The region currently has 212 reported deaths.


There were also 34 recoveries reported on Wednesday bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,116.

The new recoveries include 20 from Davao City, six from Davao de Oro, four from Davao Occidental, three from Davao del Norte, and one from Davao Oriental.
