The Department of Foreign Affairs reported 16 new confirmed cases, three new recoveries, and no new fatality due to COVID-19 among Filipinos in Asia and the Pacific and Europe Wednesday.
This brings the total number of COVID-19-related cases involving overseas Filipinos to 11,380 since the outbreak began last February, with 3,195 undergoing treatment, 7,357 recovered, and 828 deaths.
Eighty-one countries and regions have confirmed COVID cases among Filipinos.
“The DFA, together with its foreign service posts, remains fully committed to monitoring and assisting our nationals abroad amidst this ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic,” the DFA said.
The DFA has repatriated 37,095 overseas Filipinos in October and 237,363 in eight months – 77,326 (32.58 percent) sea-based and 160,037 (67.42 percent) land-based.
The DFA said expects to repatriate more than 107,000 Filipinos by year-end.
