GENERAL SANTOS CITY- A rape suspect was shot dead inside the police station here after he reportedly grabbed the firearm of a female police investigator who was interrogating him.
P/Lt. Omar Barret, deputy commander of Police Station 6, said the suspect, Merston Mocodompis, 40, and resident of Zone 8, Barangay Bula, this city, was being investigated at the Women and Children Protection Division, when he allegedly grabbed the service pistol of P/SSgt. Aiza Frias, and shot at policemen inside the police station.
He said the policemen fired back at Mocodompis killing him instantly.
Police said Mocodompis was arrested for raping a six year-old neighbor, who he had alleged molested several times since February.
