Sen. Bong Go said President Duterte is scheduled to visit Legazpi City and Albay anytime today to see for himself the extent of damage caused by super typhoon ‘’Rolly.’’

Go, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, was expected to leave Davao City with Duterte today for Legazpi City.

He said that the President’s visit to the Bicol region is not being announced because he does not want to disturb the relief and rehabilitation operations being done by various national agencies and local government units.

After the visit, the President would meet with members of his Cabinet in Manila, Go added.

During a “Laging Handa” TV interview this morning, Go assured the nation that the President is working 24/7 as he continues to monitor the movement and the destruction caused by Rolly.

He said the President knows that various government agencies are undertaking relief and rehabilitation operations.

Go cited the Department of Information Communications and Technology, Department of Energy, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Transportation, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and Department of Health for implementing their specified responsibilities.

Go asked the DoH and LGUs to maximize the use of schools as evacuation centers.

He, however, lamented that some evacuees do not practice social distancing and other health protocols to protect them from COVID-19.
