Teacher found dead with stab wounds in La Union beach

BAUANG, La Union – The body of a man, who was later identified as a teacher, was found by a fisherman on the shores of Barangay Pagdalagan Sur here on Sunday, November 1.

The victim, who was later identified as 40-year-old Joel Mendoza, a teacher at the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University Mid La Union Campus in San Fernando City, La Union, bore stab wounds in different parts of the body, according to a police report.

The victim was a resident of Barangay Parian, San Fernando City, La Union. 

According to the police report, a fisherman, who was a resident of Barangay Pagdalagan Sur, went to check on his fishing boat at around 4:30 a.m. when he noticed a body that looked like it was washed ashore on the beach. 

The victim was found with stab wounds in different parts of the body.

Bauang police is now coordinating with the San Fernando City police in investigating the teacher’s killing.
