BTS praises Filipina singer who covered 'Boy With Luv'


K-pop megastars BTS were all praises for a Filipina YouTube singer who covered their song “Boy With Luv.”

In an episode of Glamour Magazine’s YouTube series called “You Sang My Song,” the group watched fan covers of their songs which included a cover from Filipina YouTube singer Ysabelle Cuevas.

J-Hope expressed admiration for how Cuevas arranged the song.

“It’s so awesome. I love this. The arrangement is fantastic,” the rapper said.

“I gotta find this and listen to it again” he added, which was seconded by V.

“She did so well,” V commented.

Jimin meanwhile praised Cuevas for her “great talent and energy.”

Cuevas, for her part, was over the moon when she found out that BTS watched her cover.

“Oh my god, I’m flying through the sky right now,” she said.

“It’s just wild to know that V has seen my face,” she added.

Cuevas said she has always loved the group’s songs because they have “so much meaning.”

“It doesn't always translate with people who are not familiar with the language, that’s why I started Engslsigh covers,” Cuevas shared with Glamour.

The Filipina YouTube singer also thanked the group for continuously inspiring and getting her through “hard times in life.”

Cuevas’ “Boy With Luv” cover was uploaded on her YouTube channel in April 2019. As of writing, her cover has already gained over 2.4 million views.

Cuevas has been famous among K-pop fans for her English covers of K-pop songs.

Recently, she won Entertainment's cover content for “Wayo” by Treasure’s Bang Yedam.

In 2017, Bigbang’s Taeyang also noticed her cover “Wake Me Up,” and even invited her to perform with him during his concert in Los Angeles.
