The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday reported five new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases and five new recoveries among Filipinos abroad.

According to the DFA, the new cases and new recoveries

This brings the total number of confirmed cases and recoveries across the main geographic regions to 11,229 and 7,259, respectively.

“We shall continue to keep track of the status of overseas Filipinos and stands ready to assist and facilitate repatriations, whenever possible,” the DFA said in a statement.

On the repatriation of overseas Filipinos, the Philippine Embassy in Amman has partnered with the International Organization for Migration to bring home 33 distressed Filipinos from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The repatriates, composed of students, workers, and a few of their family members arrived in Manila on Tuesday via Emirates Airlines.
