3 cops, senior citizen found positive for COVID-19 in Cagayan


CAGAYAN – The Cagayan Information Office reported Monday evening that three more police officers and a senior citizen were found positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The result of the swab tests of the four new cases came out on Monday, October 26.

The police officers who were infected came from Lingu, Solana; Camasi, Penablanca; and Aggugadan, Penablanca. They were aged 22 to 33 years old.

CV 2652 is a 84-year-old senior citizen of Purok 1, Abolo, Amulung. He was rushed to the CVMC due to epigastric disease and diarrhea since October 7. 

He had no travel history and exposure but tested positive for the virus.

As such, Cagayan has increased its COVID-19 tally to 659, with 121 active cases and 532 recoveries.

Tuguegarao City has the largest number of active cases with 58, with 23 listed in Enrile, nine in Solana, six in Tuao, five in Penablanca, four in Baggao and three in Amulung.

Piat, Lasam and Lal-lo still have two active cases each, while Sto. Nino, Gonzaga, Gattaran and Alcala had one each.
