Lian, Batangas mayor dies of COVID-19

Mayor Isagani Bolompo of Lian, Batangas, passed away on Saturday evening, October 24, after testing positive for the coronavirus. He was 68.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, October 25, the municipality of Lian said it "lost a great leader who never stopped thinking about the welfare of his constituents even the very last hours of his life."

"The Bolompo family would like to express our sincerest gratitude to everyone who prayed for Mayor Bolompo as he fought against the COVID-19 virus," it added.

Before serving as mayor, Bolompo also worked as Batangas health officer.

According to the Department of Health, Batangas province has recorded 9,022 cases including 245 deaths and 7,396 recoveries as of October 25.
