LOS BAÑOS, Laguna - Almost 300 residents (67 families) were evacuated amid the onslaught of Typhoon Quinta from Sunday evening, October 25 to Monday morning, October 26.
Those evacuated were residents from the coastal barangays of Bambang, Batong Malake, Bayog, Lalakay, Maahas, Malinta, Mayondon, San Antonio, Timugan, and Tuntungin. The families were taken to designated evacuation centers.
Parts of Los Baños are prone to flooding due to its proximity to Laguna de Bay.
The Municipal Action Center, under the leadership of Mayor Caesar Perez, remains on standby in case more families need to be rescued.
