A new king is set be crowned in the country's most popular mobile esports league.

Bren Esports and Smart Omega battle for the championship series of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League-Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 6 on Sunday.

Bren and Omega collide in the best-of-seven grand finals at 6:30 p.m. for the highly-coveted title and the lion's share of the prize pool at $25,000 (P1.2 million). The runner-up gets $13,000 (P630,000).

Bren battered Onic PH black and blue, 3-0, in the semifinals behind the "Tzy" brothers Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno and David Charles "FlapTzy" Canon.

It was the second straight sweep for the black and gold squad after decimating Akosi Dogie's Nexplay Solid in the first round.

In the other semifinal tussle, Omega went to KDA machine Salic "Hadjizy" Imam to cruise past crowd favorite Execration, 3-1.

The boys in black, green and blue needed to survive Blacklist International first, 3-2, in the playoffs opener.

Interestingly, the two finalists battled to a draw in the group stage.

Bren took a 2-0 victory during the five bans update but Omega exacted a 2-0 revenge win shortly after the Project NEXT patch.

The smoking hot matchup also features the faceoff of former teammates CJ "Ribo" Ribo and Jeniel "Haze" Bata-anon, who ruled the first MPL season with Aether Main which was later on acquired by Bren. Both players also won the gold medal in SEA Games with Sibol.

Bren captain Angelo Kyle "Pheww" Arcangel and Allan "Lusty" Castromayor, who were also part of Sibol, gun for a second MPL trophy as well. Pheww played for Season 2 champ Cignal Ultra while Lusty suited up for Season 3 winner ArkAngel.

SEA Games gold medalists KarlTzy and Kenneth "Kenji" Villa of Omega, meanwhile, shoot for their first MPL title.

Also seeking to win their maiden league crown are Bren's FlapTzy and sixth man Efphraim Jueinno "Ejhay" Sambrano and Omega's Hadjizy,  Jankurt "KurtTzy" Matira,  Adrian "Toshi" Bacallo and Earvin "Heath" Esperanza.

Prior to the grand finals, Onic and Execration fight for the third place in a best-of-five series that stakes $7,000 (P340,000). The loser takes home $3,000 (P145,000).
