As the world continues to witness a steady rise in the global production of plastic products because of increased demand for automobiles and consumer electronics, medical treatment, packaging, and construction, it is no surprise that will also help spur the demand for plastic and rubber machinery.

Plastics and rubber machinery that are made in Taiwan has more than 50 years in development with a complete industrial cluster and is known internationally because of superior technology and top-notch, customer-centric after-sales service.

According to the The Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), Taiwan is in top six spot in the plastic and rubber machinery exporting countries in the world. More than 400 plastic and rubber machinery manufacturers in Taiwan, in response to the trend of Industry 4.0, are known for harnessing Taiwan's strong ICT philosophy, the adoption of “The Industrial Internet of Things” (IIoT), intelligent automation, intelligent sensors, and employing advanced manufacturing technologies to create "smart, high-end, custom-made" production solutions, making it an indispensable part of the plastic and rubber global supply chain.

Mr. Walter Yeh, President & CEO of TAITRA, delivered the opening remarks during the Plastic and Rubber Machinery Online presscon.

With the intent of helping the international plastic and rubber manufacturers to get back on their feet and once again face the future growth in plastic production demand, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) Taiwan, R.O.C, and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) organized the “Taiwan Excellence Plastic & Rubber Machinery Online Press Conference 2020” .To help create awareness about Taiwan’s exceptional companies in the plastic and rubber machinery sector, four Taiwan’s leading plastic and rubber machinery companies presented the latest trends and technologies, from injection molding machines and blow molding machines to extrusion machinery to buyers and media worldwide. These companies include Fu Chun Shin Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd. (FCS), ChumPower Machinery Corp., Fong Kee International Machinery Co.,
Ltd., and Diing Kuen Plastic Machinery, Co., Ltd. TAITRA’s President and CEO, Walter Yeh, stressed the importance of paying attention to the issue of plastic recycling and regeneration in response to the rising global environmental awareness Fu Chun Shin Machinery Manufacture Co, LTD (FCS) as represented by its sales manager, Neilson Su, have shown to the conference attendees its “Rotary Table Two-Component Injection Molding Machine (FB-230R)” and “Large Horizontal Rotary Table Two-Component Injection Molding Machine (HB-1400R).”

Mr. Guann-Jyh Lee, Deputy Director General, BOFT delivered opening remarks during the online presscon.

“FB-230R” is a precise and safe rotary table, with two sets of core equipment on the rotary table and a cooling system in the mold. This is the best option in the industry nowadays as the rotary table won't touch the platen and thus the potential for damage is reduced. In addition, its precise rotary table positioning system and patented clips can stabilize the injection molding process and products. “HB-1400R” comes with a rotary table
that spins 180° along the horizontal line placing the mold evenly on the two sides of the rotary table. With this feature, it will not be affected by external forces such as gravity and inertia resulting from its vertical rotation. Having only two platens for its clamping unit not only saves space, but also satisfies the demand for products that use huge two-component molds. And when used to produce single component products, it doubles the capacity and increases production efficiency.

Mr. Tony Wu, Sales Support Engineer, ChumPower Machinery Corp. focused on its "High speed stretch blow molding machine: L-Series." He demonstrated that the product is the fastest blow molding machine in the world, with its per cavity output of 2,250 bottles per hour being faster than its competitors’ 1,800-2,000 bottles per hour. Global brands including PEPSI, Kao, LOTTE, and more use Chumpower machines to produce PET bottles
As the the largest and finest machinery manufacturer in Taiwan’s Plastic Extrusion Industry, Fong Kee International Machinery Co., Ltd provides a wide range of plastic extrusion machinery like blow molding, blown film, cast film, sheet making, and extrusion lamination machines, among others. Charles Wei, CEO of the company, discussed the “Intelligent All-Electric three-layer Blow Molding Machine” is energy saving, reduces power consumption by 40-50%, and increase production output by 20-25%. It is also equipped with a SCADA system that collects data for further analysis to further improve its efficiency.

Eric Wei, Diing Kuen Plastic Machinery Co, LTD Vice Chairman, was also present to discuss the company’s specialization in extruders to manufacture a diverse range of plastic products. Its “Five layers co-extrusion for industrial stretch-hood” is a high efficiency extrusion for multilayer blown film that can be automatically calibrated online. It comes with a data acquisition and analysis system and automatic feeding system. It is an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) gateway that provides secure access to remote services.

TAITRA is set to hold another event, “TaipeiPLAS Digital Week” which will happen within the month of September. For more information about this event, visit https://www.taipeiplas.com.tw/en/photolink/node-list/DC00206/index.html
