No new COVID-19 cases, recoveries, deaths among Filipinos abroad — DFA


No new confirmed cases, recoveries, and fatalities were reported among overseas Filipinos Saturday, Oct. 24, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.

With this, the number of cases among Filipinos abroad remains at 11,198 while recoveries at 7,248, and deaths at 815.

Active cases are at 3,135.

According to the department, compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of recoveries saw a slight increase, to 64.73 percent, while those under treatment decreased slightly to 28 percent.

The total percentage of COVID-19 fatalities remained at 7.28 percent.

Data as of October 24 showed that most cases of oversees Filipinos affected by the dreaded disease are recorded in the Middle East/Africa with 7,376 cases. More than half of them, or 4,542 cases, have already recovered. The region also recorded the highest number of fatalities among Filipinos with 532 deaths.

The rest of the cases abroad are scattered in Asia Pacific Region, Europe, and the Americas.

The Asia and Pacific Region has 1,791 total cases with 1,273 recoveries, and nine deaths. 

Europe has 1,215 cases with 952 recoveries and 95 deaths, while the Americas recorded 816 cases with 481 recoveries and 179 deaths.
