Mayor Francis Zamora on Monday signed Executive Order 53 which allows residents aged 18 to 65 to leave their homes under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in Metro Manila.

“No other person below 18 years old or those above 65 years old, those with immunodeficiencies or other health risks shall be allowed to go out of their residences unless warranted by the circumstances of obtaining essential goods and services or for work in the permitted industries under GCQ,” the order stated.

The mayor also signed Executive Order 54 increasing the venue capacity in  churches, mosques, and other places of worship in the city from 10 percent to 30 percent.

Zamora said it is crucial to increase the seating capacity in churches, chapels, mosques and other venues of worships “to promote the spiritual and social well-being of the people” amid the pandemic.

But ambulant vendors in these places of worship are prohibited to avoid crowding.

The Metro Manila Council (MMC) on Sunday (October 18) approved to increase the venue capacity in places of worship to 30 percent, and allowed persons aged 18 to 65 to go out of their homes under GCQ.

The mayor reminded residents to follow the minimum health standards while outdoors by wearing face masks, face shields, practice proper personal hygiene, and observe physical distancing.
