“This is the message of the observance of World Mission Sunday, that the lay faithful also have the mission to spread the Word of God. The task is not limited to the members of the clergy, the priests, nuns, and the religious. All baptized Catholics have a mission to spread the Good News,” said Pabillo over Radio Veritas.

Bishop Pabillo, chairman of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines – Episcopal Commission on the Laity said, missionaries around the world, as partners of the Church, offer and risk their lives as they go about spreading the Word of God.

“All baptized Catholics have the mission to spread the Good News particularly in remote areas. Let us pray for all our missionaries aside from our priests, nuns, the religious, and even the youth, who serve in different countries to help spread God’s teachings,” Pabillo said.

This year’s theme is: “Here am I, Lord, Send me” to highlight the missionary role of all Catholics.

“This year’s theme highlights our role as missionaries. Let us pray and support all our missionaries around the world,” Pabillo said.
