BUTUAN CITY - The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region continued to rise with 34 new cases recorded.
Based on the COVID-19 Regional Case Bulletin released by the Department of Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD), 17 new cases were recorded in Butuan City, eight in Agusan del Sur, four in Agusan del Norte, three in Cabadbaran City, and two in Dapa, Surigao del Norte.
Caraga region now has a total of 2, 225 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 778 active cases, and 96 deaths
In a virtual press briefing on Sunday, DOH-CHD disclosed that Caraga region also has a total of 1,351 recoveries.
According to the medical status of the new COVID-19 patients, the DOH-CHD said 16 have mild symptoms, and 18 were asymptomatic.
Among the latest cases, 29 were local transmission cases, four with no history of travel to an area with known local transmission or exposure to COVID-19, and one with travel history from an area with local transmission.
Among those infected, 16 were female, 18 male, with the youngest at one month old and the oldest at 67 years old.
