TARLAC CITY (PNA) – A total of 71 patients from the province have recovered from coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the highest number reported in a single day as confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) on Friday.
This brought the total number of recoveries to 405, which lowered the number of active cases to only 150.
The Tarlac COVID-19 Task Force said the new recoveries came from Concepcion (51), this city (11), Capas (3), and Bamban, Paniqui, and Gerona (two each).
The task force attributed the high number of recoveries to the cooperation of the patients with the health workers at the isolation centers.
Meanwhile, four new cases were recorded, including a 34-year-old female health worker, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to 579.
Three of the new confirmed cases came from the city, while Camiling had one.
Meanwhile, the total number of deaths remained at 24.
The task force said the declining number of cases can be credited to the intensified health and safety measures, including strict border controls by the provincial government as well as the local government units.
Disinfection activities are also ongoing in the city as precautionary measure against the virus.
Governor Susan Yap reminded her constituents to observe the minimum health standards for the safety of everyone.
