Davao region records 68 new COVID-19 cases

DAVAO CITY – After recording only one case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Monday, Davao region has recorded 68 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of active cases to 690 on Tuesday, October 13.

The DOH Davao Center for Health Development reported that 53 of these new cases are from Davao City, five each from Davao del Sur and Davao Oriental, three from Davao del Norte, and two from Davao de Oro.

The DOH said eight of these are critical, 46 have severe symptoms, 238 have mild symptoms, and 398 are asymptomatic. Davao region has a total of 3,679 recorded cases of COVID-19.

Last Monday, only one case was recorded. The female patient is a 62-year-old resident of Barangay Mankilam in Tagum City who had an exposure to a confirmed case. The patient had the onset of symptoms on October 1.
The DOH also reported seven deaths — six are from Davao City, and one from Davao del Sur. The region has reported a total of 125 fatalities due to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, 41 recoveries were reported on Tuesday bringing to 2,864 the total number of recoveries.

In its Regional Situation Update on COVID-19, the DOH said 15 recoveries are from Davao City, nine are from Davao del Sur, six are from Davao de Oro, five are from Davao Occidental, and three recoveries each from Davao Oriental and Davao del Norte.
