13.98 M low-income families receive SAP 2 aid—DSWD


Over 13.98 million low-income families have received their second tranche of cash subsidies under the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Wednesday, Oct.14. 

The DSWD reported that so far, around 13,980,553 low-income households have received more than P83.5 billion worth of  cash aid as provided under the already-lapsed Republic Act No. 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act.

“Ayon sa datos ngayong ika-labing apat ng Oktubre nasa P83.5 bilyong piso  na ang naipamahagi ng DSWD sa pamamagitan ng manual at digital payouts sa mahigit 13.9 milyon (13,980,553) na mga pamilyang benepisyaryo ng SAP (Based on the data, as of October 14, P83.5 billion has been distributed by the DSWD through manual and digital payouts to over 13.9 billion (13,980,553) family-beneficiaries of SAP),” DSWD said.

The disbursed SAP 2 funds totaled P83,540,407,000, according to the latest SAP monitoring report. 

Included in the latest list of SAP 2 recipients are 1,387,130 beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps);  6,083,787 low-income, and non-4Ps recipients; 3,301,160  “waitlisted”, low-income, and non-4Ps households nationwide; and 1,822,315 “waitlisted” beneficiaries from enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) areas.

Based on the report, the number of public transport driver-beneficiaries remained at 242,453, receiving more than P1.7 billion SAP subsidy allocation. 

The breakdown of the public transport driver-recipients is as follows: 169,939 drivers of public utility vehicles (PUVs) and the Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) nationwide with over P1.21 billion SAP allocation, and  72,514 public transport drivers from areas placed under the ECQ, receiving more than P496.5 million SAP allocation.
