‘All is well’ in the House, says Bong Go

“All is well.” That is how Senator Christopher “Bong” Go described the transition of the speakership at the House of Representatives.

He was actually referring to a meeting arranged by President Duterte with new Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and outgoing Speaker Alan Peter S. Cayetano at Malacañang on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

“All is well. Parang tatay si Tatay Digong, kinausap mga anak nya, pinagpayuhan na mag kaisa. One majority and pass the budget on time para sa sambayanang Pilipino,” he said in his Viber account. (The President acted like a father talking to his children. Be a one majority and pass the budget on time for the sake of Filipinos.)

The two lawmakers had waged war against each other, with Velasco imploring Cayetano to give up the top House post based on the term-sharing agreement forged in the presence of the President.
