Smart Omega and Cignal Ultra closed the regular season on a high note after trampling on crowd favorites Execration and Nexplay Solid, respectively, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League-Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 6 on Sunday night.

Omega snapped Execration’s streak of late-game victories in the deciding Game 3 and pulled off a 2-1 series win.

Tied in a 1-1 series deadlock, Kenneth Jiane “Kenji” Villa came up clutch on his Thamuz as he made a crucial split push to destroy Exe’s top lane base turret and gave space for Omega to secure the Lord.

A team fight triumph paired with a Lord kill in the 25th minute sealed the deal for Omega.

It was Execration’s first loss in six games that stretched to 18 minutes and above.

Regardless of the result, both teams were already bound for the playoffs.

Omega (27 points) is already the second seed in Group B while Execration is still awaiting for its seeding which will depend on the result of the matches between Blacklist International against Bren Esports and defending champion Aura Philippines against rival Onic Philippines.

In the first series, Cignal Ultra came through with a come-from-behind win in Game 1 before sweeping Nexplay Solid, 2-0.

Vail Johson “Tsujin” Alejo’s X.Borg sparked the Warriors’ tremendous comeback in Game 1 as his Last Insanity burst out three NXP heroes in the 16th minute, enabling the team to go straight for the win.

Cignal then leaned on the vintage duo of Jaymark Aaron “Hadess” Lazaro’s Ling and DJ “ImbaDeejay” Astibe’s Angela to post a dominant 22-7 victory in Game 2.

Hadess had a spotless record of 13 kills and six assists as he unleashed more than 65k damage.

Cignal will face the top seed in Group A, which will be determined after today’s matches, while NXP is already set to face Group B’s top team Bren Esports in the playoffs.
