PH COVID-19 cases now at 336,926


Confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country have passed 336,000, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Saturday, Oct. 10.

There are 2,249 new cases that were confirmed, driving the total number of infections to 336,926. This is the sixth straight day that the number of new cases is less than 3,000. 

The DOH case bulletin showed that active cases or patients still receiving treatment is at 54,594, of which 85.8 percent are mild, 10 percent are asymptomatic, 1.3 percent are severe, and 2.9 percent are critical.

The top five areas with the most number of  new COVID-19 cases are Metro Manila with 651, followed by Batangas with 139, Iloilo with 136, Laguna with 128, and Quezon with 107.

Recoveries rose to 276,094 with 842 new patients that were cleared from the disease. The country’s death toll, however, went up to 6,238 after 87 more deaths were recorded.
