The agency earlier announced that it will gradually close the 13 U-turn slots on Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) as MMDA personnel will install concrete barriers for the new bus lane.

Affected motorists may take the Munoz LRT Station U-turn slot which is in front of Panorama Building, MMDA said.

The closure of U-turn slots, according to MMDA spokesperson Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago, will make the travel time of city bus commuters faster.

She said that signages have been placed along EDSA to inform motorists about the closure of the U-turn slot in front of Quezon City Academy.

“We are gradually closing them so that motorists will not be surprised. As such, we have been conducting an information drive about their impending closures,” she said.

“Once all these U-turn slots are closed, the travel time of bus commuters will be faster. This is the main reason for their closures. Despite this, we assure affected motorists that we have designated alternate routes for them,” the MMDA spokesperson added.
