‘Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss’ to premiere in San Diego Asian Film Festival


Cinemalaya 2020 film “Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss” is set to premiere at this year’s 21st San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF).

Cinemalaya announced this in a Facebook post, Wednesday.

“Sonny Calvento’s 'Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss' will have its North American Premiere as it competes at the 21st San Diego Asian Film Festival! Catch the film under the Shorts: Human Resources program of the fest. Congratulations Direk Sonny and the team,” the post read.

“Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss,” directed by Sonny Calvento, is a social satire about the plight of contractual workers in the Philippines.

The comedy film follows the story of Vangie, a miserable contractual sales lady, who is about to lose her job. However, in her desperate attempt to convince her boss not to dismiss her, she uncovers the ultimate secret to regularization.

It stars Angelina Kanapi, Bob Jbeili, and Phyllis Grande, among others.

The SDAFF is one of the largest media arts organizations in North America that showcases Asian and Asian American cinema.

This year, it will showcase over 125 films from 24 countries, in 34 languages from Oct. 23 to 31, 2020.
