I am thankful to the congressmen who trusted the service of the agency, and I am hoping that we will also get similar support in our budget deliberation in the Senate),” Lim posted on his official Facebook page.

The agency, according to the MMDA chairman, has many plans for the National Capital Region (NCR) and some departments of  MMDA.

We will continue to do our duties and responsibilities),” he said.

The MMDA was under fire recently following the report of the Commission on Audit (COA) on the agency’s unregistered vehicles and unnecessary expenses in 2019 for penalties of late registration and renewal of motor vehicles.

MMDA spokesperson Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago clarified during a Laging Handa briefing that all the MMDA vehicles, from trucks to motorcycles, plying roads are registered, even motorcycles of enforcers, contrary to the report of COA.

“Some vehicles were already auctioned off and were not just crossed out in our books. There are also some vehicles which are up for disposal, ergo, no need for registration,” she said.

Pialago said Lim has already ordered a probe on the late registration and renewal of the agency’s motor vehicles which led to stiff penalties.
