Davao region reports 131 new COVID-19 cases in 2 days

DAVAO CITY – The DOH Davao Center for Health Development reported a total of 131new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the region on Saturday and Sunday.

Based on the COVID-19 Regional Case Bulletin, Davao region recorded 75 new cases on Saturday, and 56 cases on Sunday. The region now has a total of 3,290 recorded cases with 661 active cases.

Records showed that 95 of the new cases were from Davao City, 19 were from Davao del Norte, six from Davao Oriental, five from Davao del Sur, four from Davao de Oro, and two Davao Occidental.

Meanwhile, 10 of the new cases recorded on Saturday were children, who were 12 years old and below. Based on the profiles released by the DOH, the youngest case was a three-month-old boy from Bucana here. The child had the onset of symptoms on September 30.

Two deaths were also recorded in Davao City on Sunday, bringing to 99 the total number of COVID-19 related deaths reported.

The region has also recorded 47 recoveries. The youngest of those who have recovered was an eight-month-old boy from Bunawan in Davao City. The region has recorded a total of 2,530 reported recoveries.
