Trot’s Kim Ho-joong, Stray Kids, The Boyz top monthly Korean album chart for September

Trot singer Kim Ho-joong and K-pop boy bands Stray Kids and The Boyz grabbed the first three places in top album sales for the month of September.

Korea’s Hanteo Chart released the rankings for September showing that Kim Ho-joong’s album “My Family,” released on Sept. 23, ranked first with 532,127 copies sold. He enlisted in the military on Sept. 10 after being embroiled in controversies including illegal gambling, evading military service and a public spat with his former manager.

Stray Kids’s repackaged album “In Life” took second place with 265,795 copies sold. The album was released on Sept. 14 and it sold 233,381 copies in the first week, higher than the “Go Live” album, which garnered 127,930 copies in sales during the same period upon its release on June 17.

The Boyz’s “Chase” album sold 214,550 copies to place third in September. Released on Sept. 22, the album accumulated 212,666 copies in sales for the first week, compared to the album “Reveal,” which had 48,538. “Chase” placed second on Hanteo’s weekly album chart from Sept. 21 to 27 with sales of 210,325.

Super Junior D&E (Donghae and Eunhyuk) placed fourth with their fourth mini-album “Bad Blood” selling 190,623 copies in September. It sold 166,249 copies in the first week of release since Sept. 3, higher than their last album “Danger,” which had 71,738 copies.

Rookie boy band “Treasure” copped fifth place with their album “The First Step: Chapter Two” recording 171,923 copies in sales. The album was released on Sept. 22 and it posted 169,586 copies in sales in the first week compared to 160,614 for “The First Step: Chapter One.”

SHINee member Taemin’s “Never Gonna Dance Again: Act 1” is in sixth place with 132,289 copies sold. It was released on Sept. 7 and sold 116,423 copies in the first week, an increase compared to 85,000 copies for his 2019 “Want” album.

Former Monsta X member and now solo artist Wonho placed seventh with his first album “Love Synonym Pt.1: Right for Me” selling 107,342 copies. The album, released on Sept. 4, recorded 83,540 copies in sales in the first week.

Idol group ASTRO members Moon Bin and Sanha’s debut album “In-Out” grabbed eight place with 60,647 copies sold in September after posting 47,898 copies in sales in the first week of release since Sept. 14.

DAY6 subunit Even of Day’s debut album “The Book of Us: Gluon” placed ninth with 56,374 copies sold. Released on Aug. 31, the album recorded 51,395 copies in sales in the first week.

In tenth place is Super Junior D&E’s “Bad Liar” album that was released on Sept. 28. It sold 43,276 copies for the month.
