Key decisions, announcements and preparations will be determined in the next few days as the PBA enters the final stretch before the much-awaited restart on Oct. 11 in Pampanga.

PBA teams will continue to hold daily practices at the Angeles University Foundation campus.

Team practices are crucial steps to determine how the squads would fare when the Philippine Cup resumes.

“Kasama sa pilosopiya ng team ang paghahanda,” said NLEX coach Yeng Guiao, as per his team’s Twitter account. “Preparation is a key to success and we are hoping that we can put it into practice. To be successful you have to be ready.”

Guiao and other coaches are also waiting for the full schedule to come out so they begin scouting their first opponent for the restart.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said the elimination round schedule and official team rosters may come out in the middle of the week. Games will be held everyday until the Philippine Cup enters the playoff stage.

Marcial is also expected to decide on the status of suspended Phoenix Super LPG star Calvin Abueva.

Abueva received a major boost in his bid to see action in the bubble after the Games and Amusements Board agreed to reinstate his professional license on the condition that he attends a seminar and undergo a mandatory drug test.

Marcial was noncommittal when asked about calls to lift Abueva’s indefinite suspension that has been going on for 15 months.
