P3.2-million marijuana uprooted, burned in Kalinga


CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad – Government forces seized about 16,000 fully grown marijuana plants, estimated to be worth P3.2 million, in Barangay Belong Manubal in Tinglayan, Kalinga on Saturday, October 3.

Joint operatives of the Tinglayan and Lubuagan Municipal Police Stations, led by Lt. Luis Burlap Jr., and Capt.  Bede Dakiwas, respectively, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) discovered the marijuana plantation.

The operation, which was staged at around 10:20 a.m., led to the discovery of a 2,000 square-meter lot planted to marijuana.

The operatives uprooted and burned the marijuana plants on-site.
