DFA to close Lipa consular office for disinfection


The Consular Office in Lipa (CO Lipa) will be closed on Monday, Oct. 5, for disinfection of the office premises and implementation of other preventive measures against the risk of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Sunday, Oct. 4.

The DFA said the consular office in Lipa will resume its operations on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

All affected applicants or those with confirmed appointments and who will be unable to avail of consular services due to the suspension of operations must secure another appointment by emailing [email protected] with the following information: name, date of birth, original appointment date and time, and preferred date and time of new appointment

The preferred new appointment may be on any working day (Monday to Friday) from Oct. 6 to Nov. 6, during the CO’s regular operation hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Those applicants who need emergency or urgent consular services may contact CO Lipa through the same email address.

On Oct. 3, the DFA also announced an 11-day suspension of operations of its consular office in Tuguegarao, Cagayan.

The suspension was in compliance to Executive Order No. 108 of the City of Tuguegarao placing the entire city under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

The consular office in Tuguegarao will resume its regular operations on Oct. 19.
