Sen. Ronald dela Rosa said Saturday the term-sharing agreement between House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and Marinduque Rep. Lord Alan Velasco must be honored.

Dela Rosa, during a DWIZ radio interview, said he does not want to interfere with the House of Representatives speakership issue as both ‘’contenders’’ are his friends.

‘’Sino bang hindi gusto matupad ang usapan pag usapang lalaki dapat usapang lalaki masusunod ‘yan,’’ Dela Rosa said.

(A gentleman’s word must be honored)

‘‘Pero di ako puwedeng makialam diyan sa Lower House, ang akin lang sana both of them are my good friends, both of them malaki naitulong sa gobyerno sana lang they act amicably and peacefully sino ako para mag judge sa kanila. Resolve among themselves dapat.’’

(But I will not interfere with the internal affairs at the Lower House. They are both my good friends. They have given their all for the benefit of the country. I hope they will be able to settle it amicably and peacefully. So who am I to judge? They should resolve it between themselves)

‘’Even if you are not a politician, a gentleman’s word must be honored…that is a big thing among Filipinos,’’ he added.

Dela Rosa said the pro-administration Partido Demokratikong Pilipino (PDP) party headed by Sen. Koko Pimentel is limiting his area of concern only to Senate affairs and he does not want to meddle in House internal affairs.
