IT firm seeks to upskill 10,000 young Filipinos


An Indian-based IT powerhouse aims to upskill at least 10,000 Filipinos for in-demand certificate courses to meet the skill set requirement of most in demand tech jobs.

Rabah Consulting has partnered with Pratian Technologies, a top tech company headquartered in Bangalore, India, to bring to the Philippines SkillAssure, a rapid competency development program designed specifically to meet the skill set requirement of most in demand tech jobs.

Subramanian Sivakumar, Chairman and CEO of Pratian Technologies said SkillAssure seeks to enable at least 10,000 tech enthusiasts over the next decade, create a high end IT workforce and accelerate tech entrepreneurship in Philippines.

“We wish to impart world class skills in Industry 4.0 and beyond. Young Filipinos including the rural youth will have access to global mentors like the co-founder of MIT Innovation Lab. We are happy to partner with Rabah in their mission to create an amazing breed of Responsible Digital Innovators and Global Tech Entrepreneurs in Philippines,” he said.

He said the Philippines with a $350 billion GDP growing at 6.3 percent, the country has in the last two decades established itself as a global destination for high quality Voice and Tech Support Services. He said that the nature connected people of the Philippines are well suited for Responsible Innovation.

Skillassure offers a rapid and high-level IT certificate courses to help boost the IT skills and talent of Filipinos thereby gaining new technology knowledge, and find new venues for job opportunities.

 There are about 150 IT courses to choose from the program. It is a complete end-to-end digital ecosystem for future skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship with 100 percent job placement in the technology industry. This project aims to combat the employment challenges due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis in the Philippines.

“As the coronavirus pandemic persists, threatening livelihood and businesses, Filipinos need to equip themselves with better skill sets to thrive in the new normal,” said Andrea Trinidad, CEO of digital marketing company Rabah Consulting.

For its launch, the company will offer the SkillAssure Discoveri Program, a 5-day free intensive training and assessment on Industry 4.0 technologies and frameworks. Industry 4.0 refers to a new phase in the ‘Industrial Revolution’ that focuses profoundly on interconnectivity, automation, machine learning, and real-time data.

The program will have an instructor-led session via live webinar, live interaction with industry professionals, collaboration sessions, the experience of the Software Development Life Cycle, and about 20 different technologies and 8 different tools.

During the session, students will discover their area of interest in the technology landscape. This will be offered to senior high school graduates, technical-vocational completers, graduating college students, new hires, and professionals in the Philippines. The session is free for students across the country.

Filipinos can also avail of blockchain, machine learning, big data, and artificial intelligence skills through SkillAssure. The IT certificate course training will be tentatively launched in October this year in the Philippine market.

Globally, SkillAssure has received the interests of 30,000 students and trained over 12,000 freshers on Industry 4.0 experiential technologies and frameworks in the last seven months. It has offered jobs to more than 300 students in India alone through the online Discoveri in the last three months.
