PBA players made the most of their time amid the quarantine while waiting for the continuation of the postponed 45th Season.
It took around six months of preparation for the PBA to successfully relaunch a one-conference season, the Philippine Cup, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
While most players spent their quarantine days with online and home workouts, some of them also took their precious time in rediscovering other hobbies. Others focused on family time while some provided help for those in need.
With the return of the PBA under a bubble concept a few days ago, players are slowly adjusting to a new life in Clark, Pampanga. Just like the days spent in quarantine, these players did all sorts of things just to keep themselves busy in their respective rooms at the Quest Hotel.
Magnolia teammates Paul Lee and Jackson Corpuz bonded over cups of coffee from the past days as seen on their social media accounts.
The Magnolia guard showcased his "barista skills" by making "latte arts" in different forms, serving Corpuz as his first "customer" for what they dubbed as the "Lethal Coffee." Lee brought packs of coffee beans he received from his barista brother, who also runs an online coffee business.
Rain or Shine players Beau Belga and Ryan Arana are calling on their "suki" to buy from their supposedly makeshift "sari-sari store." Laundry service will be scheduled in the bubble, so Arana thought of bringing a portable washing machine for easy change of clothes.
The same goes for Magnolia forward Rafi Reavis, who aired an 11-minute room tour showing all the things he brought in the bubble. Reavis also became a food critique of some sort, documenting every packed food he takes from the table outside of his room.
In one instance, the Magnolia veteran judged the packed food containing a squid dish. He insisted that he doesn't eat "calamari" but in the end, he found himself feasting on the "curry-style" dish.
Kiefer Ravena of NLEX and Ginebra's Aljon Mariano were among the players who brought a gaming console to fight boredom while NorthPort's Kevin Ferrer and Paolo Taha sang along and jammed into loud music.
On Thursday, Mariano acted playing NBA 2K while holding a PS4 controller. But the truth is, he and roommate Scottie Thompson were just watching Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat.
PBA assured that there will be lots of amenities for the staff, coaches and players in the bubble.
Even if these amenities were for them to enjoy, the players are already showing their creative side and more entertainment is expected to come for the next two months.
