Consul General Zaldy Patron personally spoke with Fernandez over the phone on Monday, September 28, to convey his congratulatory message to the Filipino painter over his remarkable achievement, and hoped that this feat would inspire other Filipino artists in Canada.

Fernandez was the only artist to have a solo exhibition, titled Luntian (Green), at the Art NOW Fine Art Fair 2020. The rest of the participating artists joined group exhibitions, with a total of 17 galleries in Saskatchewan included in this year’s art fair.

Although the 10-day exhibit of Fernandez ended last September 27, about 19 of his works are still on display at The Woods Artspace gallery in Saskatchewan until October 24, 2020.

Fernandez, who was born in Taal, Batangas moved to Regina, Saskatchewan in 2017.
