18 overseas Pinoys recover from COVID -- DFA


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday, Oct. 1, recorded five new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases, one new fatality, and 18 new recoveries among Filipinos abroad.

According to the DFA, the new cases and new recoveries were reported from Asia and the Pacific, and the Middle East, while the new fatality was from Africa. 

The total number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos since the outbreak started in February earlier this year is now at 10,539. 

Of these, 3,001 are undergoing treatment while 6,745 have recovered from the disease. 

As of today, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 among overseas Filipinos are broken down as follows: the Middle East/Africa, 512; Americas, 178; Europe, 95, and the Asia Pacific region, 8. 

The DFA assured that it will continue to keep track of the status of overseas Filipinos as it stands ready to assist and facilitate repatriations whenever possible.
