“Fan Girl,” a movie written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone, is among films selected to the new Tokyo Premiere 2020 section of the 33rd Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) set to run from Oct. 31-Nov. 9.
The film, about a fan obsessing on her idol, is up against 31 other films for the Audience Award.
Note it is the only Filipino film in the lineup.
It stars heartthrob Paulo Avelino and newcomer Charlie Dizon.
This is not the first time that a film by Jadaone made it to the TIFF.
Last year, her “Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay” was featured in the prestigious festival.
